Four-star running back Wesley Yarbrough was one of Arizona's official visitors this weekend. The 2025 prospect from Crosby, Texas told me tonight that he is not taking any other visits and will have a decision made "really soon" now that he's had a chance to make the trek out to Tucson. The Wildcats are in a great position with the 5-foot-10 prospect, and you can read about his weekend trip to Tucson at the link below.

"Our connection is really strong, and we just naturally click."

Arizona has landed a commitment from three-star cornerback Joshua Tuchek today. The Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan recruit had Michigan State heavily involved and also holds offers from ASU, Cal, San Diego State and several others. The Wildcats have made him a priority and he now is the latest member of the 2025 class. Will be the first of several commitments to come out of this weekend's visits.

Basketball recruiting notebook: Top-20 wing Tounde Yessoufou set for Arizona OV

Have a recruiting roundup article for you all as things begin to heat up on that side for the Wildcats. This weekend, Arizona will host one of its top targets as 2025 wing Tounde Yessoufou makes the trek out to Tucson with his mom for the first time. He's been on campus previously and understands how much of a priority he is for Tommy Lloyd's staff, but getting an opportunity to make the trip back to UA with his mom is going to be big.

USC is making a strong push and Kentucky is becoming a bigger factor as well. Still, UA has established itself as a top contender making it an important couple days for the staff.

I also have updates with top targets Xavion Staton and Cameron Holmes plus the latest on 2025 five-star forward Will Riley a couple weeks out from his decision.

Roster breakdown: Linebackers

Hey guys, we will be starting a series breaking down Arizona's roster position by position leading up to training camp.

Up first is the linebacking position and our Aidan Wohl has you covered with his breakdown of the group:

Booster and Donor update

Hey guys, I've been talking to people inside the athletics department and wanted to share with you that this is going to be a important summer for new A.D. Desireé Reed-Francois when it comes to meeting donors and boosters that could help the department in not just football, but all sports as well.

Reed-Francois has already had a meeting with the Stevens family during the spring game.

Not sure how the meeting went, but it is of high importance that she is able to build a relationship with that family.

Also, Arte Moreno hasn't donated for quick some time, since the firing of Mike Stoops. I'm not sure when he meeting with Moreno will be, but that is another booster that Arizona needs.

Finally, one booster (wasn't told the name) is waiting for president Robert Robbins to officially step down. When that happens he will receive a phone call from Arizona.

DE Josiah Hammond (UPDATE)

Hey guys, I wanted to jump in and share an interview I had with three-star defensive end Josiah Hammond, who took an official visit to Arizona in early May.

I asked him questions about his visit, about his recruitment and his time table on his decision. Below is the Q&A of the interview with Hammond.

Q&A:

Q: Who was the coach that started recruiting you to Arizona?

A: The coach that started recruiting me was coach [Ty] Nichols. Nichols and I have built a great relationship kind of like a big brother and little brother relationship and he’s my guy!

Q: When you first got to Tucson what did you think about the city? And what stood out to you?

A: That was my first time in Tucson and I loved it and definitely plan on trying to get back out there before my commitment.

Q: What stood out about Arizona's campus?

A: My favorite part of the facilities was definitely the weight room it’s the perfect size and they have all the right equipment needed to be successful!

Q: What player on Arizona's roster did you connect the best with?

A: I definitely bonded with Chubba Ma'ae on the team being there was like being around my family at home.

Q: What was it like meeting coach Duane Akina?

A: I didn’t really get to see coach Akina this much but when I saw him it was really good vibes that I got from him.

Q: How do you see yourself fitting into Arizona's system?

A: Arizona's system is a lot like my high school system, so I could see myself fitting in very well.

At the end of the interview, Hammond said he really didn't have a ranking system for the team's he has visited yet. However, he said that he expects to make his decision come early July as to where he will be going.

TRANSFER TRACKER: Arizona departures (2024 April window)

Hey guys, the transfer will be opening on Tuesday and the craziness will start again with Arizona losing around 5 to 6 players to the portal. And, it has already started with Joseph Borjon announcing today that he will be entering the portal. Borjon wasn't at practice on Thursday, so this comes at no surprise.

Walk-on addition

Hey guys, I wanted to update you on the commitment of wide receiver Jordan McCord, who announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Twitter today. McCord is part of the 2024 recruiting cycle and will be on the 2024 roster for Arizona. So, this means it is a preferred walk-on situation and not a scholarship situation. Right now, we don't have a profile for him, but he has had offered (not sure to the extent) from San Jose State and Eastern Washington.

Alonzo Carter was the one at San Jose State that started the recruiting process with McCord, so it makes sense that he would want to bring him in as a PWO at Arizona and give him a division one opportunity.

2025 WR Muizz Tounkara sets up Arizona official visit

League City (Texas) Clear Springs wide receiver Muizz Tounkara has set up an official visit with the Wildcats for June 14. Wisconsin, Kansas and Arkansas will also host him on official visits in the coming weeks. Bobby Wade only offered Tounkara, who has been a fast riser this spring, last week but Arizona has quickly made a strong enough impression to jump into the mix with the other schools on his list.

He'll be one to watch as he works his way through the upcoming official visits.

NCAA settlement

This week a landmark settlement was agreed to that will change college athletics. Revenue sharing is coming to college athletics and most of what you know about the college game is going to change. Here are a few articles breaking down how it will all work after the House v. NCAA settlement agreement that was made Thursday.

Transfer OL Shancco Matautia announces commitment to Arizona

Arizona has added a commitment from former New Mexico offensive lineman Shancco (Ise) Matautia. The 6-foot-2, 346-pound redshirt junior from California made 11 starts at right guard for the Lobos last season and played in 12 games. He's made 21 starts throughout his career and had transferred to ASU in the winter. He is an alum of Anaheim-Servite so there is obviously a connection there with several current players.

He'll have two seasons of remaining eligibility with the Wildcats.

Arizona-UCLA series

Hey guys, as we all know, Arizona's move to the Big 12 and UCLA's move to the Big Ten has put the historic rivalry of Arizona-UCLA in basketball in danger of falling into pieces.

Well, there is an effort to save the rivalry as Arizona and UCLA will be playing games at a neutral site starting next season at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

Games in the series:

2024: Phoenix
2025: Las Vegas
2026: Year off
2027: Los Angeles

I'll be writing something up and post it in here as well.
