Big 12 Media Day (Arizona)
Hey guys, we have Matt Moreno in Las Vegas getting all things Arizona from Big 12 Media Day. The Wildcats just had their segment on ESPNU and I'll post some quotes from Brent Brennan and Noah Fifita.
But, we will have more as the day continues with video from Vegas, five takeaways from Brennan's podium interview and more.
When asked about Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan staying in Tucson, Brennan said that they along with guys like Jacob Manu and Gunner Maldonado are the ones that kept everything together. That those type of players wanted to keep everything moving forward.
Brennan was ask what he wanted to do when he first got to Arizona. His response as that he understood what the team was going through (Fisch leaving) given that he was doing the same to San Jose State. So, he said he wanted to make sure that the players understood that he got what they were going through. Plus, he wanted them to see who he was and what he is all about as a head coach.
Brennan talked about how his staff has kept a lot of the same terminology and wanted to put the "onus" on the coaches to learn it because at the end of the day "conceptually" everyone across college football is doing the same stuff, but its just a matter of what you call it.
While collaborating on the new offense with the players and the new staff, Brennan said that Fifita made it seamless with how cerebral of a QB he is and his knowledge of the game.
Again, we will have more in this thread and on the site. Feel free to comment with questions, or any takeaways.
