Florida has come through with an offer for longtime Arizona receiver commit Muizz Tounkara this week. He is just the latest UA commit to see new interest in his senior season, and the Gators have targeted the Wildcats' commitment list as of late. They offered QB commit Robert McDaniel recently, and now Tounkara is on the radar.

Podcast! Arizona getting ready for matchup with UCF

The latest podcast episode is up as Troy and I discuss the loss to West Virginia, where things stand with the team with four games to play in the regular season plus a look ahead to this week's matchup with UCF.

Players to watch: Arizona vs. UCF

It's eerily similar seasons for both Arizona (3-5, 1-4 Big 12) and UCF (3-5, 1-4 Big 12) as both teams went into the season with expectations to be two of the better teams in the conference and contend for a Big 12 title.

However, each have dwindled in recent weeks for their own reasons and hold the exact same record at this point. Both UCF and Arizona in fact are on losing skids of five and four respectively and something has to give here.

Something fortunate for fans of both programs though is someone has to win here and in UCF's annual Space Game that they've never lost, Arizona has no easy task here on a path to reach bowl eligibility.

UCF's head coach Gus Malzahn essentially cleaned house this week firing his defensive coordinator Ted Roof and relinquishing his own offensive play-calling duties to Tim Harris Jr. ahead of the matchup with the Wildcats.

With so much noise in Orlando currently, Arizona head coach Brent Brennan has been specifically focused on his own team as they try to get back on track.

UCF comes into the matchup as -6 point favorites in a game with an O/U of 55 points welcoming the Wildcats in a cross country trip to Florida.

Uncertainty clouds the Knights at the moment but Arizona is also heavily injured on both sides of the ball at crucial positions, but both teams will be scratching for a win here to kickstart a run to bowl season and here are three potential difference makers for each team in their first matchup in history.

I love all you guys on the editorial staff and my fellow bloggers, but I am cancelling my subscription. It is 2pm CST on Friday and the most recent headline story is two days old and a report of Wednesday's news conference with the Defense. Tomorrow is the game. There are no fan posts. I still have not gotten any response to my request for help to remediate my technical issues. I have only continued my subscription over the last few years because this has been the best blog for recruitment. If you check the home page the last five articles are 2 days old, three days old, four days old and five days old. Not good. I am sorry.

Arizona adds to its 2025 recruiting class

Wednesday morning, Arizona received a commitment to its 2025 recruiting class in three-star OT Louis Akpa, who announced his decision on Twitter (X) early in the morning.

Akpa is a 6-foot-6, 266-pound tackle out of San Mateo, Calif., who picked the Wildcats over offers from Cal, BYU, Boise State, Iowa State and Fresno State among others.

Overall, the Wildcats have add five offensive lineman in the class that now sits at No. 36 nationally.
