Fellow Cat Fans,

I will find myself at a casino on the morning of the Arizona SDSU game. I am trying to gauge everyone's comfort on Arizona covering the spread. I have seen it hovering right around +6. I tend to be overly optimistic to start the season, so perhaps I need a reality check. However, I think Arizona covers this, and I probably like them to win outright.

While SDSU did had an impressive record last year (and a big win over Utah), they struggled to put points up over the latter half of the season (breaking 30 only once - against competition below that of the Pac-12). On top of that, they are replacing their starting QB (with Burmeister) and their starting RB, as well as a few along the O Line. And nobody ever accused Brady Hoke of being an offensive genius.

The SDSU defense was stout last year, and it should be again this year (but see note above regarding level of competition).

My gut tells me that De Laura, Cowing, TMac, Williams/Wiley are going to be able to put up points against this defense. Maybe not 40, but they also will not be held to 10. If Zona puts up 20-30, I very much like them to finish the game within 6 of SDSU.

Am I crazy?
