Haha, the Pac-12 announced today that it will be reducing the number of night games in the conference and will move forward with reworking the contracts with ESPN and Fox to cut down on those night games. It is something that was recommended by the Pac-12 Council and absolutely backed by Rich Rodriguez as Arizona seemed to fall into those night games quite often.

The new change will allow Pac-12 Networks games to start at either 2:30 or 6 p.m. and overlap with an ESPN or Fox exclusive TV window.

“The Pac-12 has some of the most loyal fans in college athletics and we appreciate our television partners working with us on this important issue for fans,” said Rob Mullens, University of Oregon athletic director. “The increased exposure and revenue from our contract with ESPN and FOX has been instrumental to our success, but we continue to work hard to minimize as much as possible the negative impact late start times have on our fans who travel great distances to see our teams in person."

Rodriguez was particularly outspoken on this issue last season and now gets some results.

The conference will now also fine programs for court and field storming after games as well it announced today.
