- Center fielder Johnny Field hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth on Friday to help give No. 20 Arizona a wild come from behind 4-3 victory over the visiting Columbia Lions at Hi Corbett Field.

- Field, who finished the game 3-5 with an RBI, drove the 1-1, no out, pitch into left field, scoring Zach Gibbons, who tripled to lead off the inning.

- The Wildcats (12-4) trailed Columbia 0-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth.

- Arizona scored all four of their runs between the eighth and ninth innings. The three runs in the eighth came on a sacrifice fly by pinch hitter Ryan Koziol and RBI singles by Kevin Newman and Scott Kingery.

- Newman finished the game 4-4 with an RBI and run scored. The freshman is just one of two players (Dixon) to be hitting over .400 so far this season. (.404)

- Konner Wade tossed eight strong innings, but was credited with the no decision. The ace concluded the night with three runs allowed (one earned) and three punch outs. He remains at 2-0 on the season.

- Mathew Troupe earned his first win of the season, pitching the ninth inning before the walk-off. Troupe is now 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA.

- Lions (0-5) starter David Speer pitched six innings of scoreless baseball and struck out six Wildcats. Reliever Thomas Crispi (0-1) took the loss for Columbia.

- The Wildcats left nine runners on base Friday night, but hit 5-11 with runners in scoring position.

- To lead off the inning, Arizona hit 7-9 or in terms of average, .778.

- Arizona improves to 12-4 and will face Columbia again tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. James Farris will have the rock for the Wildcats.
