Johnny Thompson Jr. recently backed off his commitment to USC, and he is someone to know about in the 2023 class. Oregon, Washington and Colorado State have jumped in with recent offers, but Arizona was the first school he visited in the process last year. The Wildcats have not yet offered the high three-star running back, but he has plenty of connections to the program. He played last season alongside Sterling Lane and is friends with Kevin Green Jr. and Ephesians Prysock. He has already been talking to both players about what it is like at UA, and he has remained in contact with Scottie Graham.

He thinks highly of the program, and I suspect the Wildcats would be one of the favorites should they offer. So, he will be someone to continue to monitor as the process moves ahead. His plan is to make it out to Arizona again some time soon.

“I talked to them and they’re in love with it up there. I don’t doubt them, because when I went up there I did enjoy myself also. I’m thinking past just school. If I were to get a house up there, how would I be mentally? How would I feel living in Arizona, and it’s a really good place to live. Low gas prices, it’s not California expensive.”
