Arizona was back at it Tuesday morning as the team prepares to welcome No. 9 Washington to Tucson to begin Pac-12 play. Here are some quick notes after this morning's post-practice media session.

* The daily quarterback update today hasn't changed much from the last couple of weeks. Brandon Dawkins is still working with the first unit and Rich Rodriguez said today that simply "practice" is what he wants to see from Solomon this week. He added that Solomon "didn't do nothing much today." I will say that his willingness to offer that up to the media when the last two weeks he has been quiet about the topic tells me he is more than comfortable with Dawkins being the guy this weekend. Not saying it happens but Rodriguez seems more comfortable than ever reading between the lines making the move. Body language was very different for both guys after practice as well if that means anything.

* Tyrell Johnson continues to work at running back this week and Rodriguez said something like 10-12 carries is not out of the equation for him on Saturday. Jamardre Cobb should be back for the Washington game after that knee injury kept him out last week.

* One thing I'd probably get ready for is a lot more John Kenny this week as UA battles through some injuries. DeAndre' Miller has been in a boot this week.

* JJ Taylor is getting a little more comfortable doing interviews so we were able to learn a little more about him today. He's still as humble as ever saying he hasn't paid much attention to the buzz he's created with his performance on Saturday. However, he does know that he left some more yards out on the field and that is what he has been focused on this week. One interesting thing he said is that he used to do gymnastics as a kid and he feels that has helped him in football especially with his balance.

* Calvin Magee said he wants to let Taylor "be natural" when it comes to all his shiftiness and spin moves. The UA running backs coach said he wants to see the fundamentals first from Taylor before anything else, but once he gets to the second level he has no issue with the freshman turning it loose.
