Arizona assistant coach Mark Phelps is in California today checking out a few basketball recruits as the Wildcats continue to look at options for the 2018 class. One event Phelps stopped by was the Classic at Damien in SoCal and he watched a game between Corona-Centennial and Lake Balboa-Birmingham featuring two four-star prospects.
Doutrive is an intriguing shooting guard prospect who currently checks in at No. 128 in the Rivals150. He's had an interesting recruitment so far with schools like Cal and UNLV being out there but things being plenty wide open. He's a big-time scorer who has the ability to play at the high-major level and it's an interesting option for UA as it looks for more options to help on the wing next season with numerous members of this year's team expected to move on.
"He's long, he can get to the rim and he's wired to score off the dribble with big upside once he hits a college weight room," Rivals.com's Eric Bossi wrote last month about the 2018 recruit.
I've watched him play wit Cal Supreme and he has the skill set that will work for Sean Miller, and while he's not the truly elite option the Wildcats have become used to he wouldn't be a bad option for what UA has to work with right now.
The top-40 guard from Centennial is just getting started with his recruitment, but he will have some big options when all is said and done. Clark plays for the Compton Magic on the summer circuit and he has offers from schools such as Boise State, New Mexico and UNLV to name a few right now.
"He's tough, he has balance between his slashing and jump shooting and he seems to look a little bigger and a little better each time I see him," Bossi wrote of Clark earlier in the year.
