They're announcing today.

"The Board of Regents met in closed session Monday to interview both finalists, Dr. Robert C. Robbins of Texas Medical Center and Sethuraman Panchanathan of Arizona State University."

This has wide reaching implications, I for one do not like the Panchanathan guy. He's fully vested in Crow's idea of a New American University. If it's him I see UA fading away and asu taking over as the dominant University in the Southwest in all measures. asu is already trying to leverage the regents to support their efforts to get into engineering and space sciences, areas where UA is already very strong and world renowned in some regards.

Too much power has been given to Crow, if he keeps down this path he will become one of the top 4-5 most powerful men in the state. We already know he detests UA and Tucson, imagine the economic implications that can occurs, UA Research dollars pump millions of dollars into the Southern AZ economy.

Let's hope it is Robbins, he is a slick guy who gets shit done and has a medical background, he's also interested in athletics and believes they are the face of a University.
