Arizona's injury report is out for the week and as you would expect there are plenty of names on it once again ... and they are notable names. The last few weeks have brought another new set of injuries and while the team is getting healthier in some spots there remains questions at others. One area the Wildcats are going to need to be ready to go this week is the secondary and UA is still battling some injury concerns there.
Here is a look at this week's injury report and who I think ends up playing come Saturday.
Questionable: Arizona does not have any "probable" players on this week's injury report but it does have a handful of questionable guys starting with cornerback DaVonte' Neal. As of now I'd expect Neal to be out there after missing time with a hamstring injury. Arizona is going to need all the healthy cornerbacks it can get Saturday and Neal should be able to provide a boost. The former receiver spoke to the media Wednesday night and normally that is a good indication that a guy will play as typically players whose status could be up in the air are not permitted to speak.
Next on the list is safety Tellas Jones who is questionable with a concussion. I also think he will end up giving it a go Saturday as well. He was suited up this week and was limited but I think, again, Arizona will need all the help it can get in the secondary.
Nick Wilson is listed as questionable again with his foot injury, but he was suited up this week as well and while limited it sounds and looks like he will be back on the field this Saturday. Jared Baker gave the Wildcats what they needed last week so it would not be totally shocking for UA to take it easy on Wilson for another week, but as of now it sounds like he will be a go for the Wazzu game.
Parker Zellers is another player under the questionable category and with Anthony Fotu's recent suspension and some of the shifting Arizona has had to do it could really use him this week. Zellers is battling a knee injury and it will be interesting if he will give it a go. At this point I'm leaning toward him being on the field because he will be so important this week, but we will see come Saturday. He was limited some in practice this week.
Doubtful: After just a couple games Tyrell Johnson finds himself on the injury report again after missing the first five games with a foot injury. The speedy receiver hurt his hamstring last Saturday and Rich Rodriguez was hopeful that he would be back for Saturday's game but at this point that doesn't look like it will be the case. Obviously the hamstring is what got Jerrard Randall earlier in year and took away some of his burst and that speed is the biggest part of what makes Johnson effective. At this point it looks like Arizona will take it easy on him this week as he tries to get healthy again.
Out: The two usual faces are on the "out" list again this week as two of Arizona's most important defensive players continue to work through their injuries. Scooby Wright has his foot injury and Derrick Turituri is dealing with that hip issue still and neither will play Saturday. It still sounds like it will be at least a couple more weeks for both and potentially longer as the two UA linebackers try and get healthy.
Arizona continues to battle through some injuries to some of its more impactful players, but it looks like at least a good portion if not all of the questionable guys will be out there Saturday.
