This doesn't necessarily impact Arizona directly, but it will be interesting to see how this changes recruiting moving forward. Five-star point guard Daishen Nix backed out of his NLI with UCLA and has decided to sign with the G-League select program that will also feature five-star wing Jalen Green and five-star big man Isaiah Todd. Both Green and Todd made the decision to take the G-League path before making a college decision making Nix's choice the first of its kind with a player who had already committed and signed with a college ultimately backing out of that pledge.

Nix was going to be UCLA's best player next season so it is certainly a blow to the Bruins, but it also opens up some interesting questions about what will happen in the future with other players in a similar situation.

Nix told ESPN that he made the decision because the G-League is only one step below the NBA. Not much has been divulged about what this G-League team will look like other than that it will be most likely based in Southern California and will mostly be focused on development over games. The team is expected to play in exhibitions and will only have about a dozen games against other G-League teams.

Couple that with other top prospects in the 2020 class, such as Seattle-based wing Marjon Beauchamp and former Hillcrest Prep standout Kyree Walker, deciding to bypass playing for a team altogether and opting instead to train with Chameleon BX next year while they wait to become draft eligible, and the landscape of college basketball recruiting continues to go through some interesting changes.
