Bill Walton to be honored when UCLA, Arizona square off this fall
The two longtime rivals will continue their three-game nonconference series on Nov. 14 at Intuit Dome.
Following yesterday's announcement of the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas matchup with Florida, Arizona has officially announced its Nov. 14 matchup with UCLA that is being billed as the Hall of Fame Series Rivalry Game at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, home of the Los Angeles Clippers. The game will serve as the second contest in a three-game series between the longtime Pac-10/12 foes that began with a matchup last year at Footprint Center in Phoenix. The two teams were originally slated to meet in Las Vegas this upcoming season.
A tribute to Bill Walton will also be part of the matchup with his connections to both teams plus the Clippers through his time as both a player and broadcaster.
"We look forward to continuing the series with UCLA this year at a one-of-a-kind venue like the Intuit Dome while honoring the legacy of Bill Walton and his impact on both programs," Tommy Lloyd said in a statement from the program. "This is also an important way for us to connect with our alumni and fans in Southern California, who have also helped shape the history and tradition of our university and our program."
