Arizona has earned a commitment from three-star defensive back Armani Adams from St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood. The 6-foot recruit had only Arizona as his lone Power Five offer and Jahmile Addae was able to lock him up before the start of the summer. He received a bump up after the spring and he is someone on the rise. Arizona wants him to play safety as far as he knows and he will provide some nice depth at the position for UA moving forward.
UPDATE:
I had a chance to speak with Adams and here are some key quotes from the conversation. I'll do a more detailed story later going into it even more. Jahmile Addae is a big reason he committed without ever visiting.
On his decision: "It was the best fit for me. The connection I had with the coaches it was basically an everyday conversation, normal conversations not even about football. That's first what made me most attracted to the school. They just have an unbelievable school."
On Addae being a big part of his relationship: "Oh he was a huge part. He's from the same area where I'm from so that's pretty big also. He knew the same places I knew. Our relationship is the best as far as all the other coaches by far. We have normal conversations about everything – sports, life, anything – we just have normal conversations. And we just talk."
