Arizona has become more dedicated to recruiting tight ends in the 2021 class and another prospect at the position has picked up an offer from the Wildcats. Alexandria, Louisiana tight end recruit Shield Taylor added UA to his list this week and he now has 20 offers overall in the process. The 6-foot-5 prospect is another recruit with an interesting offer list that features Power Five schools in addition to really everything in between.
Arizona is the second Pac-12 program to offer him joining Stanford, which offered him last month. Arkansas and Duke are a couple other Power Five schools that offered him while Boise State, Cincinnati, Memphis, North Texas and New Mexico are some of the other programs on the list. He also has offers from Army and Cornell as well.
One of the things that makes Taylor a bit different than the other tight end recruits Arizona has offered so far in this class is that he has been used as an H-back a lot in his high school career. Many of the other tight end recruits Arizona has offered played a lot on the outside as receivers but Taylor mostly sticks to coming out of the back field or lining up in tight like a typical player at his position.
Stanford has gained a lot of the buzz as of late, but it will be interesting to see how the Wildcats approach his recruitment and work to get him out on a visit at some point.
