Arizona landed its second pledge of the 2019 class today as the Wildcats sealed up a commitment from three-star big man Christian Koloko at the end of a visit to Tucson. I have seen Koloko numerous times. In other years and at other times he might not have become a priority for the Wildcats but bigs are becoming more and more scarce in the West. If there’s one thing he can be dominant at right now it is rebounding. He still has work to do as an offensive player and he isn’t yet the defensive player he will become, but he can grab a ton of rebounds.
He’s still thin so he’ll have to put more weight on so he doesn’t get pushed around but this staff really like him and made it happen. He was big on academics and liked some of the options he had on the table from schools that would have given him an excellent education but the connection he has with Arizona’s staff mattered.
He is a native of Cameroon and played with Devonaire Doutrive last year before he moved to Sierra Canyon.
