I'll have more on tonight's media session and practice later, but I must implore you watch this video with new offensive line coach Kyle DeVan. I'm not sure the last time I was this impressed listening to a coach talk. Donovan Laie talked tonight as well and he mentioned how much fun it is to come to practice and that echoes what Josh McCauley said earlier in the spring. Listen to what DeVan says and how he says it and it's easy to see why the players have really taken to him.
I'll include a few of my favorite/notable excerpts below as well as the longer video. I can respect a coach who is going to come in and not just go with the flow and be afraid to voice his concerns. It's pretty clear that DeVan is going to want to have some input on how things go on the field and more voices isn't always a bad thing.
It's hard to fake what DeVan was saying tonight and it's easy to see why Sumlin decided to go with him and I could definitely imagine him hitting a job interview out of the park. If his coaching his coaching is as good as his ability to speak with the media UA's got something with him.
