Arizona will face Cal for the first time since the Hill Mary game, and it will do so fairly healthy. The Wildcats, as we all should know by now, don't divulge all of the injuries on the team but they do a pretty good job of keeping us all informed. This week's list is another short one with no real surprises.
Here's a look at where things stand as UA gets ready to head off to Berkeley.
Probable
Luca Bruno (concussion): The senior defensive lineman didn't play last week and he didn't even suit up in that game against UCLA with the concussion issue. He has done more this week and the expectation is that he will play Saturday against Cal. The Wildcats will need all the help they can get up front with Parker Zellers serving the second half of his targeting suspension in the first half of Saturday's game and it sounds like Bruno will be able to step in and help. If he doesn't go that will present an opportunity for Kurtis Brown to get a start or the Wildcats could always kick Larry Tharpe Jr. back inside as well.
Questionable
None
Doubtful
Scottie Young Jr. (knee): We knew it was coming and we told you to expect it, but the team's starting free safety is now officially listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Bears. It is a pretty serious injury that as of now likely will keep him out for a while beyond this weekend's game, so it may be something the Wildcats have to get used to. The freshman not being listed as out is a good sign for the longterm prognosis but it will certainly be a hurdle the Wildcats have to get over beginning Saturday. As of now the plan is to start freshman Troy Young at bandit and move junior Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles from bandit to free safety in place of Scottie Young. Unless there is a true miracle he is not expected to play this weekend.
Young is currently third on the team with 32 tackles on the year for the Wildcats.
Out
Jalen Harris (shoulder): Now that DeAndre' Miller is back it makes someone like Harris less needed and it will work out since he has a shoulder injury. Arizona is going to try and get the freshman a medical redshirt and because of that it needs to be a season-ending injury for him to qualify. This week's injury reported that Harris' shoulder injury is one that will keep him out "indefinitely" meaning as of now you can likely expect him to be done for the year and for the team to move forward with redshirting him this year even though he played to start the year.
