Arizona offered 6-foot-6 offensive lineman Enrique Cruz from Villa Park, Illinois over the weekend and it was an offer that caught the 2021 prospect off guard. He spoke about the process in getting the offer and what it mean to him moving forward in his recruitment as well. Kyle DeVan continues to help the Wildcats dive deeper into Illinois recruiting after UA looked away from the area for a few years. DeVan is leading Cruz's recruitment and the Wildcats should have a chance to remain in the picture for the long haul.
"I was definitely surprised when Arizona offered me a scholarship," Cruz told Tim O'Halloran of EdgyTim.com. "When I first started my recruiting I followed the University of Arizona football on Twitter and sent them my video highlight and I never heard a thing back. It's crazy to think it went from that to now an offer from Arizona is pretty amazing."
Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Syracuse and Wake Forest are his other Power Five offers.
