So I was out at St. Pius X tonight checking out Grant Gunnell ahead of Saturday’s game. He was great and threw for six touchdowns against an overmatched team.
He said he will be in Tucson next week for another visit and he will be bringing his teammate Jalen “Boobie” Curry with him. That is a big deal. It took some doing to get Curry out to Tucson but Arizona’s staff has done a good job with him and turned up the heat.
Taylor Mazzone was here watching the team.
I caught up with Curry and he said he has a very good relationship with Clarence McKinney and the Mazzones as well. He is very, very close with Gunnell and that is a big reason for the trip though. Curry said Gunnell is like a brother to him and he has warmed up to the idea of playing with him in college.
It is definitely going to take some more work but Arizona has made up some ground for the Rivals100 wideout. He didn’t play tonight because of a wrist injury but he looks the part of an elite wideout.
