GAME THREAD: Arizona vs Stanford

Arizona is back in action tonight looking to build on its win from Thursday night over Cal. Stanford is the team making its return to McKale Center tonight and there is already some intriguing elements to this one.

As always follow along for updates or join the conversation as well as the Wildcats play the second-to-last game at McKale Center this season.

Pregame

- Arizona will get back Brandon Williams tonight as he is expected to play limited minutes for the first time since UA’s trip to Los Angeles last month. KZ Okpala is back after missing this week’s game for Stanford as well.

1st half

- Smith hits a jumper for Arizona to get things going in this one; Jeter gets a big dunk that gets the crowd excited as UA takes the early 4-0 lead; Jeter gets another bucket as he has 4 points in the early going for the Wildcats; Oscar Da Silva with a layup and foul for Stanford and he gets the 3-point play; Coleman hits a 3-pointer from the right wing and the lead is up to 6 points for UA; Coleman again from deep and the Wildcats extend the lead to 9 points; Luther gets a layup and UA’s lead is at 11 [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 14 Stanford 3 - 15:24]

- Davis with a jumper for Stanford; Jeter with another bucket for the Wildcats and the lead is up to 11 once again; Davis with a couple free throws to cut into the UA lead; Sharma hits a jumper and the lead is down to 7 for the Wildcats; Ira Lee hits a couple free throws to push the lead back up to 9 for UA; Davis hits a 3-pointer and it’s down to 6 after the Stanford point guard’s shot; Coleman with another bucket for the Wildcats; Cormac Ryan with a 3-pointer and the lead is down to 5 now [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 20 Stanford 15 - 9:22]

- Jeter with a floater in the lane for the Wildcats; Sharma with a layup fo the Cardinal; Sharma again for Stanford with a bucket in the paint; Jeter with a big dunk and UA is back up 5; Okpala has been quiet so far but he gets his first bucket to fall and it counts the lead to 3; Luther hits a 3-pointer as he continues his hot shooting; Okpala again in transition and he gets two more for Stanford; Lee hits a shot in the paint for UA [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 29 Stanford 23 - 2:31]

- Luther makes a layup off the miss from Jeter and UA pushes its lead to 8 points as both teams are having some issues putting the ball in the bucket down the stretch

2nd half

- Randolph hits from the baseline and UA has the first basket of the second half as its lead is now up to 10 points; Davis finds Wills for a easy bucket underneath with a nice pass; Coleman finds Jeter underneath as the UA big man gets pushed in the back as he makes a layup but he misses the free throw; Davis finds Okpala slicing through the lane and he makes the bucket for Stanford; Coleman with a pump fake and move to the basket that ends with a layup in the lane; Davis answers with a 3-pointer to make it a 7-point game; Da Silva hits a corner 3-pointer and now it’s just a 4-point lead for the Wildcats; Randolph with a 3-pointer form the corner as an answer for UA [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 40 Stanford 33 - 14:32]

- Williams gets fouled and he hits a couple free throws for the Wildcats; Lee gets fouled and he makes two free throws to push the lead back up to 11, which is the biggest lead of the second half for UA; Davis fouled and he hits both free throws; Okpala takes it right at Luther and he hits for the Cardinal making it a 7-point game; Alex Barcello hits a 3-pointer for UA; Da Silva gets lost behind the UA defense and he gets an easy basket [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 49 Stanford 41 - 11:23]

- Randolph with a 3-pointer now for the Wildcats and it’s back up to an 11-point lead for UA; Da Silva with another bucket for Stanford; Smith finds Jeter for a dunk and the lead is once again 11 points for Arizona; Sharma with a big dunk and the lead goes back down to 9 as the back and forth continues; Lee with a mid-range jumper and it’s back up to 11 for the Wildcats [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 56 Stanford 45 - 7:56]

- Sharma hits one of two from the line after the timeout; Lee hits a jumper for the Wildcats and he’s one of three UA players with 10 points now; Lee with another bucket for the Wildcats as he pushes the lead to 12 points now, which is the biggest lead of the half now; Sharma hits and he’s fouled but he misses the free throw; Wills fouled and he hits both free throws making it an 8-point lead for UA; Lee with two more points as he continues to have a strong night for the Wildcats; Coleman fouled and he hits both free throws for UA pushing the lead back up to 12 points; Davis with a tough basket for the Cardinal and he now has 14 points to lead his team [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 62 Stanford 52 - 3:21]

- Coleman hits two free throws out of the timeout; Lee with a dunk and he now is one of four players with 14 points now as the Wildcats’ lead is up to 14; Lee with another big dunk as Stanford’s press breaks down leaving him open; Okpala gets a layup to cut the lead; Williams hits to push the lead to 16 for UA
