Rivals.com South Central analyst Sam Spiegelman was able to see Arizona safety commit Dalton Johnson in action last night and grabbed a few clips from the Katy High School win out in Texas. Johnson is an intriguing prospect and Arizona obviously needs help at the safety position to create some more depth there after going through losses there this offseason. He picked Arizona over offers from schools such as Virginia Tech, SMU, Houston, Louisiana Tech and Colorado State to name a few. Despite not having a ton of Power Five offers the coaching staff likes what he brings to the table as a physical playmaker in the secondary. He doesn't necessarily have ideal size for the safety spot for every program, but he makes up for it with his ability to hit plus Paul Rhoads continues to look for players that have some versatility and fit his system well.
As you can see in the clips above he has a knack for finding the ball and that should serve him well once he arrives to Arizona as he is someone who should be in the mix to see early playing time at the position as soon as next year.
