Arizona is on the verge of landing a commitment from Phoenix-Brophy Prep tight end Tyler Powell. The Wildcats have positioned themselves well with the 6-foot-6 recruit after hosting him on an official visit back in June. Powell is a big body tight end with plenty of skill plus he is a high-academic prospect with strong character. Landing Powell would give the Wildcats a recruit from yet another top high school team in the state. Arizona has been working to break into Brophy Prep since Jedd Fisch has arrive but missed out on some of the top prospects from the school, including legacy defensive back Benjamin Morrison. Though he is not a four-star recruit like a couple of his teammates, Powell has some big offers on the table. Auburn, UCLA, Florida State, Arizona State and Iowa State are the Power Five schools that have offered him up to this point.

He will be another significant pickup in the class for the Wildcats and someone who shouldn't negatively influence the team's pursuit of four-star tight end Keyan Burnett. The Wildcats plan to use a lot of two tight end sets in the new offense, so the plan has been to take more than one in the class. Powell would be a very strong start to putting together the tight end group for 2022.
