Three-star cornerback Terrell Burgess made his official visit to Arizona during the season. If he was pressed at that time to make a decision he would have been a Wildcat. He enjoyed his trip to Tucson and he has a strong relationship with UA's staff. Then offers started to roll in again and the San Marcos, California standout decided to take his time with things and take some more visits.
He wrapped up a big trip to Berkeley on Sunday and now he will work toward a decision later this week. Cal is going all in on Burgess as its next cornerback commit and the visit with the Bears has certainly given him plenty to think about.
UA remains in a good spot going into his decision this Friday, but it is not the clear cut favorite it once was. The Wildcats find themselves among a final group that also includes Cal, Utah and San Diego State. Burgess also visited Boise State during the process, but with Marcel Yates now at UA the Broncos are out of the picture. Utah was at one time Arizona's biggest competition for Burgess, but the Bears are giving them a run for their money.
Still, his relationship with lead recruiter Rod Smith and the rest of the staff could end up being the key to his decision.
“With Arizona, I like the coaches a lot," he said Sunday. "It’s a nice school, and I could get an good education and enjoy some good facilities if I went there."
