Now that Selection Sunday for the NCAA Tournament is just three weeks away it's time to start getting a little more serious about how things will line up for Arizona during the Big Dance. The two most reliable bracketologists out there are Jerry Palm from CBS and Joe Lunardi of ESPN.
Both have updated their latest projected brackets today and here is how things look for Arizona right now according to both Palm and Lunardi.
CBS: Palm has Arizona as a 7-seed in the Midwest Region (Indianapolis) taking on 10th-seeded Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It would match up the Wildcats, should they win, with either Maryland or Montana on the other side of the pod. According to Palm, it would put UA far away from home with the game being played in Greensboro, North Carolina.
ESPN: Lunardi currently has the Wildcats rated higher than Palm with Arizona projected as a 6-seed in his latest bracket taking on 11th-seeded East Tennessee State in the South Region (Houston). That scenario has the Wildcats playing the winner of a matchup between Villanova and Colgate should they win. Like Palm, Lunardi has Arizona playing far away from home with his projection having the Wildcats in Albany, New York for the first two games of the tournament.
