Matt,

Are any of the assistants or other folks involved with the football or athletic program talking right now? With a possible pending lawsuit I am sure the University's counsel has advised everyone to clam up but wondering what, if anything you are hearing around the program, if anything.

After the allegations made yesterday the announcements of support for Rich seemed to have certainly died down or it might be that those who were going to support him already said their piece.

Again, due process needs to be followed and his accuser needs to prove that her case is valid and she isn't just trying to get a payday out of this. However, the timeline fits if I think about it as her comments started in 2013 with the "Hideaway Book" but really makes most of her claims after the stellar 2014 season as the program started to decline indicating to me that the strings with his coaches and other folks involved in the athletic program started to unravel.

It's like watching a soap opera and I know we are all going to have to move past it but it is surprising to me (although I guess it shouldn't be at this point) just how unpopular Rich was with the Tucson media. I am not a huge fan of the media in general most of the time and used to laugh at some of his comments but with some reflection it does raise some questions.

I think that the Tucson media is pretty mild in comparison to others but were folks tentative (afraid is too strong a question) to ask questions because they would be denied access and lose their ability to do their job? What was the general feeling about Rich by the Tucson media? He didn't need to be loved but was he held in disdain? No one has stated that he was but hindsight being 20/20 and reading the comments and body language I am beginning to think that a big part of the issues with the program (attendance, interest and other issues could be from the lack of access and information about the program). I live in San Diego so my access is already limited to twitter and this site so I don't see the day to day local reporting. In your opinion Matt, has this slowly died off? I guess that is four questions and a couple of comments but I am interested to hear your thoughts Matt.
