Aari McDonald is back at Arizona and is now a member of the coaching staff under Adia Barnes. Though the former UA star will not be a full-time assistant, McDonald will be leading the recruiting efforts as the director of recruiting operations for the Wildcats. The school made the news official on Thursday.
"I want to thank Coach Barnes for giving me a chance to be a part of her staff," McDonald said in a statement provided by the team. "Tucson has always felt like a second home to me, and I am so excited to be back in this community with the best fans in the country. Most importantly, I can't wait to help recruit future Wildcats and bring home championships."
McDonald will remain a member of the WNBA's Atlanta Dream while working with the Wildcats.
According to the press release, her duties as director of recruiting operations will include overseeing all recruiting logistics, assisting with on-campus visits, managing recruit information as well as social media content.
