Arizona has continued to make offers as of late and two more offers went out on Saturday for the Wildcats. Both offers went to athlete recruits with both prospects living up to that with what they are able to do on the field. Here's a closer look at the two newest UA targets.
I'll start with the higher rated of the two prospects as high three-star athlete recruit Jaylin Smith already has an impressive offer list that includes top programs such as Alabama, Clemson, Oregon and Penn State to name a few. Arizona is the ninth Pac-12 school to offer him at this point with USC, Colorado, Washington, Arizona State, Washington State, Utah and Cal being the others in addition to UA and Oregon.
Right now his recruitment has been trending toward a local program, USC. Smith had planned to take a number of visits throughout the spring, but those have been put on hold because of the recruiting dead period. That is likely to still take place, but the Trojans have started to gain momentum as of late.
Greg Burns is going to lead the recruitment for UA and there is already a bit of a relationship there for the Wildcats since the new defensive backs coach was previously at USC.
Smith is truly an athlete recruit since he could play several different positions at the next level including defensive back and receiver in addition to being a returner as well. The three-star prospect plays at a school, Alemany, where the Wildcats have been active in offering players this spring. So, that connection is something to keep an eye on with the 2021 prospect.
Another versatile prospect added an offer from Arizona on Saturday, but he has already been through the process once before. Three-star athlete prospect Kaden Dudley was previously committed to Colorado after making his decision in October, but he backed off that pledge a month ago after his home-state program went through a coaching change as head coach Mel Tucker left for Michigan State.
The 6-foot prospect is another recruit who could play on either side of the ball as a defensive back or as a receiver. His versatility has programs interested and his other offers include Washington State, Kansas, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV. Wisconsin, Oregon, UCLA and Cal are some of the other schools that have expressed interest as well.
This is another recruitment that Burns will lead for UA as he made the offer to the Colorado native. There is still plenty of time before Dudley makes another decision and despite Colorado being very much in the mix despite his previous commitment the Wildcats should still have a strong chance to eventually land him.
