A couple new developments have happened lately with junior college linemen. I've mentioned this before but Arizona's most pressing needs are in the trenches and the coaching staff knows that. It also knows there is some immediate help needed there as well. That's one reason the junior college ranks have seen some increased attention from the Wildcats.

We'll start with three-star defensive tackle Myles Tapusoa from Eastern Arizona College who added an offer from the Wildcats last night. The 6-foot-3 prospect committed to Houston in June, but the Wildcats feel like they have a good shot to flip him because of the Polynesian connection and the need for players like him. The Salt Lake City, Utah-based prospect only has one other offer aside from Houston and that is Idaho.

So he's definitely a bit under the radar as a recruit, but UA has now entered the picture. The added benefit for the Wildcats is that he is a mid-year enrollee as a December graduate.

Arizona has also quietly turned up the heat with high three-star offensive lineman LaQuinston Sharp as of late and he is expected to be on campus for an official visit next week. The East Mississippi CC standout has offers from schools like Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri and FAU. He is currently rated as the 24th-best junior college recruit in the Rivals.com rankings.

He was supposed to be making a trip to Missouri this weekend, but that will no longer happen and now the Wildcats will get him on campus for the USC game. Mississippi State has been viewed as the favorite with Florida in the mix as well, but the Wildcats have ramped up their efforts with the junior college offensive lineman.
