Top 5: Arizona, Oregon, USC, Utah, UCLA

Arizona linebacker target Harrison Taggart has narrowed down his recruitment to five schools coming off his trip to Oregon over the weekend. It was the second official visit of the process for the Utah-based prospect after taking his first official visit to Arizona back in June. Taggart raved about his trip to Tucson but has been set on taking more trips to come to a final decision about his recruitment. He will be going to school in the Pac-12 after releasing his list that featured programs all within the conference. Oregon has been viewed as the biggest competition to the Wildcats, and it certainly is not a great sign that he has decided to narrow his options right after taking the trip to Eugene. However, a top five in recruiting typically means a recruit is down to about two or three schools and at this point Arizona is believed to be one of the programs near the top of his list.

Utah and UCLA will likely get him on campus of official visits while there are numerous connections to USC that have the Trojans in the mix as well. Arizona is looking at Taggart for the VIPER position, and the thing that has been appealing to him so far about UA is the chance to play right away. The Wildcats don't have at ton of proven depth at the position leaving the potential for Taggart to make his move up the depth chart early in his career.

"He set the standard high," Taggart said about his trip out to Arizona this summer. "We really got to know each other and build a great relationship. It’s a big brotherhood down in Arizona and it’s only getting stronger. Arizona set the bar high. Fisch does a very good job of making us feel at home."

The high three-star linebacker continues to move up the rankings as he is now rated as the 30th-best outside linebacker in the class along with being the fifth-rated prospect from Utah in the current cycle. While Oregon is now looking like the team to beat, you cannot count out Arizona in this scenario because of the opportunity he will have to potentially contribute in his first season.
