Offers: Arizona, Cal, Utah, Washington State, Arkansas, Baylor, Boise State, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Missouri, SMU, TCU (previously committed), Texas, Texas Tech, UTSA
Rundown: One-time TCU commit Devin Lemear continues to work his way through the recruiting process as he looks for his next school to commit to after backing off his pledge to the Horned Frogs back in early April. A day after he announced his decision to back away from his TCU commitment the three-star defensive back from Manor, Texas outside Austin he picked up his offer from Arizona as a wave of new programs decided to enter the mix.
"I have 20 offers now and only had five offers when I had originally committed to TCU earlier this year," he told Red Raider Sports. "So things have taken off even more since I reopened my recruitment, just a lot more calls and talking or texting with college coaches. I'm really exploring my opportunities and learning more about the coaches recruiting me."
Lemear is still trying to figure the next steps in his recruitment since the process has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic with in-person visits off the table since early March. He has only been able to see TCU on a visit, so taking some more in-person trips could end up causing a delay as he moves ahead.
It could also keep him closer to home with many of the programs in Texas battling it out to keep him home and away from programs such as Arizona.
"I have no clue what is happening with visits and the NCAA and the cancellations," he said. "I would really like to wait and take visits before making a decision, but it isn't great because we don't hear anything. So, no real plan or deadline for a decision, just wanting to wait and take visits whenever that is possible again.
"A part of me has been thinking about releasing a list of 'top' schools, but then another part of me says there is really no reason to do that right now. I'm really just going with the flow every day. I'm taking summer courses and working out, so sometimes I might miss a call from a coach, but that is just part of the whole recruiting game."
