Georgetown guard James Akinjo is visiting Arizona this weekend as he looks for his next home after recently entering the transfer portal. The California native was someone Sean Miller made a big push for back in the 2018 recruiting cycle, but ultimately lost out on to Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas. Akinjo has averaged over 13 points and five assists during his time at Georgetown and would be a nice addition for a team that still needs a point guard on next year's roster.

There are going to be plenty of suitors for Akinjo as he looks for his next home, but Arizona has already built a nice relationship with him from back when he was in high school. Miller has already been able to pull off one commitment in a similar scenario with Jordan Brown, so there is a precedent there for Arizona when it comes to adding a player who was previously a top target.

Interestingly enough, Gonzaga is one of the programs also in the hunt as are Oregon and St. Mary's so it will be a big game for the Wildcats to make a good impression Saturday as he takes in Tucson over the weekend. His official visit will begin later today.

Akinjo was the Big East Freshman of the Year in the 2018-19 season.
