This figures to be another busy offseason for Arizona with some key decisions to be made and the inevitable roster movement. The Wildcats likely aren't going to be as active in the transfer portal as they were last season when Tommy Lloyd first came aboard as the team's new head coach. Still, Arizona should be consistently part of the conversation with many of the top transfers that become available. Because of that, I thought it would be good to keep track of the transfer players and any movement that could come this offseason.
So, we will continue to update this thread with any new transfer news in the coming weeks and months. Things have been mostly quiet so far, but that should begin to pick up once the NCAA Tournament is over and more players begin making decisions about their futures.
April 1 — Kansas State sophomore guard Nijel Pack
Arizona is among the schools that has already reached out to Kansas State guard Nijel Pack, who just entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Thursday after two seasons with the Wildcats. He led K-State with 17.4 points per game last season to go along with three rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this season. He only didn't score in double figures once this season and he had seven games when he scored at least 20 points. He also scored at least 30 points in three different games.
The 6-foot guard from Indianapolis has the size of a point guard, but he is definitely more of a scorer than a distributor and would help give UA some more scoring on the perimeter. If there's one thing Arizona is looking for this offseason it is added perimeter shooting, and if there is one thing that stands out about Pack it is his ability to hit 3-point shots. He connected on around 44% of his attempts from deep this season at K-State.
Gonzaga, Xavier, Ohio State, Marquette, Purdue, Miami, NC State and Tennessee are some of the other schools that have already been expressing interest in the sophomore guard.
