Arizona was back at it Tuesday morning and right now it is the Khalil Tate show for now. Here are the quick notes after talking with coaches and players.

* Brandon Dawkins' rib injury was not new according to Rod Smith. He said it was already there going into the UCLA game but it became worse once he got into the game and started taking hits. Because he wasn't able to make passes or run it the 'Cats had to make the move.

* On Tate's redshirt, Smith echoed what Rich Rodriguez had already said that the staff did not want to pull the redshirt but felt it had no choice. Now it will be about using him more the rest of the season. Smith said his task now is to harness Tate's ability enough but not take away from his playmaking abilities.

* Much like Rodriguez has no explanations for the injuries outside of bad luck he said there was no reason for the first half of Arizona's practice to go as well as it did today. He mentioned that portion of today's practice was the best he's seen in six weeks.

* There was a lot of Tate praise today and while Arizona center Nate Eldridge was happy with the freshman's performance he said Tate needs to be louder with his calls. There were some issues with that where the offensive line had some problems hearing him and had to urge him to be louder.

* Nothing new on injuries today but Rodriguez said he wants to get Zach Green on the field more. It has remained conditioning that is the issue with giving him a larger workload. Rodriguez they like his running style though and he needs to get on the field more.
