Arizona was back to work Monday but things were moved inside the stadium with the weather making things soggy on the practice field. It was the second to last practice in Tucson for Arizona in 2015 as it will finish things up on Tuesday before heading out later in the week to Albuquerque.
Here are some quick notes from tonight.
* As I said in the War Room there is still no real change injury wise for who Arizona will have available. Rich Rodriguez did say that Anu Solomon is fully cleared and ready to go and as I mentioned earlier today he is expected to get the start as of now. Scooby Wright has not hit any bumps either and he remains a full go in practice as well. I still don't get the sense you will see Nick Wilson very much if at all and on the official he is listed as an "OR" along with Jared Baker who is listed first on the list.
* I have also been mentioning that Derrick Turituri continues to look like a no go and that really shouldn't be a surprise. Tonight Rodriguez finally said that the team will explore a medical redshirt for the injured linebacker who has been dealing with a hip injury for most of the season. Barring some unforeseen circumstance he should be granted the extra year.
* Rodriguez was a fan of the colder weather today and he said it is good prep for the team since it will be about 20 degrees when UA arrives in New Mexico on Wednesday.
* Jerrard Randall took some time to talk after practice today and he had some praise for Brandon Dawkins and his performance against ASU. The senior was pretty blunt with his short comings in that game and the whole season really and knew what he wasn't doing right. He said a lot of his own problems came from not being able to stay composed in the pocket. He also said he knew about the touch issues and he said having shoulder surgery back when he was at LSU really changed the way his arm felt and he was never able to get to feeling the same way after that rotator cuff surgery. The ball just felt a little different he said and that really changed the touch aspect in his mind.
* Rodriguez also talked about Dawkins some more today and he said the biggest thing moving forward is that he needs to get more serious about the position and that is something Rodriguez said he has started to see more of lately. Remember he has been suspended in the past and there was a time where he just wasn't into it but he has been much better about the day-to-day grind as a backup and Rodriguez said he has all the tools to compete for the starting job next year.
