Rundown: Arizona jumped in with an offer to big 6-foot-7, 320-pound offensive line prospect Justin Pickett from Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana which is one of the top programs in Indiana and is in the upper echelon of high school programs nationally. UA is the first school from a Power Five conference to offer the big offensive line recruit but he has racked up several smaller offers over the last several months. Kent State was the first school to offer him but he has started to see his recruitment rise as of late with more programs from all over the country deciding to jump in with an offer.

He is certainly an intriguing prospect on film and he fits what Arizona wants up front under offensive line coach Kyle DeVan since he will take up a lot of space along the line. He is massive but he carries his weight well and looks like the type of prospect who could step on the field right away without any physical limitations. He looks the part of the a college offensive lineman already, physically. Not carrying much bad weight is sometimes difficult for high school offensive linemen, but he is ahead of the curve in that area meaning the focus could be on his technique when he gets on a college campus without many issues on the strength and conditioning side.

It's a surprise that more Power Five schools have not decided to come through with an offer since most programs are eager to get players like Pickett on board even if there is a good amount of development to be done simply because he has great size. We'll see if the offer from Arizona opens up the flood gates, but being early with other Midwest prospects has certainly benefitted the programs as of late and DeVan has so many ties to the region that he has had plenty of success there making headway with recruits in the area so far in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

He is going to lead the recruit for the Wildcats and it will be interesting to see how Arizona eventually moves ahead in his recruitment. Arizona doesn't have anyone on the roster built quite like Pickett along the offensive line right now and building up that group is something DeVan wants to do as he continues to mold the O-line.

One thing that is intriguing about Pickett is that he plays a lot of guard for his high school team so he has that versatility element to his game even though he is on the bigger side. There is certainly quite a bit of athleticism that he shows on film and if he is able to get in front of coaches at some point it could cause his recruitment to grow even more.

For now Arizona jumped out ahead of those other schools and should be in a good spot with his recruitment moving forward.
