Arizona has announced the hiring of former Nevada head coach Jay Johnson as its new head coach to replace the recently retired Andy Lopez. Johnson coached at Nevada the last two seasons and had a record of 72-42 including a 41-season win this past season.
Johnson spent eight seasons at the University of San Diego prior to his job at Nevada where he became a very good recruiter for the Toreros.
The new Arizona head coach was named the Mountain West Coach of the Year this season.
