Arizona was back at it after its 24-hour and practice on Sunday for Monday's press conference. Injuries were the talk of Monday's press conference and here are some quick notes discussing the notable topics.

* When it comes to injuries Rodriguez half-joked that there are 28 players on the injury report this week and he said there are going to have to be guys playing before they are truly ready. Freddie Tagaloa is among that group and he is day-to-day after staying home for the UCLA trip.

* He added that Paul Magloire is fine and he was confused that people felt he didn't play. Rodriguez said the linebacker was just in less than he had been. He said there wasn't any kind of controversy to be made there they staff just likes other guys in other situations and it was just how it played out more than Magloire's play.

* On the quarterback front Brandon Dawkins has bruised ribs and that means he will have to work through that right now. Dawkins and Anu Solomon are still listed as starters with an "OR" between them while Khalil Tate and Zach Werlinger are listed second with an "OR" between them. Rodriguez said he wouldn't play anybody just to play a little so the expectation is that Tate factors into things in some capacity moving forward.

* On Tate, Rodriguez said the freshman was better against UCLA than what he has shown in practice. The staff liked his reads and felt he "was spot on" with a lot of the things he did and that is not necessarily what they have seen during practice. When it came to his little spell where he needed help Rodriguez said Tate was just a bit tired after his long run.

* Rodriguez said Arizona was down to just one extra offensive lineman Saturday having three guys out. It's not a place he wanted to be in because it forced some players out of position but it does mean those other rotation guys are getting some experience.
