Arizona just finished up its morning practice and Rich Rodriguez was a little more pleased with things. The defense won again today as it has done for most of the spring.

Here are some quick notes for you from this morning's practice.

* Injury wise things remain the same as they were last night. Lene Maiava is still recovering and he was working off to the side again. So too was Anthony Lopez who is dealing with a couple different injuries right now.

* Gerhard de Beer was still in the first group taking Maiava's spot at tackle. That has moved Alex Kosinski to the second unit at tackle too. Rodriguez said de Beer needs to be ready to contribute this season with so much fluidity on the line.

* Arizona once again moved its linebackers around. Today it was once again DeAndre' Miller with that first unit while Jake Matthews was with the second group. UA also had Cody Ippolito playing the middle backer spot with RJ Morgan as the third linebacker in the second unit.

* At this point Carter Hehr is going to play some ball for Arizona this year and not just on special teams. Today he was at spur with Paul Magloire at bandit with the second unit. Although the staff hasn't shown it I still would be be surprised to see a guy like Magloire roll down and play backer at times this year like UA did with Tra'Mayne Bondurant in the past.

* Johnny Jackson remained with the first unit today in the slot as Arizona works to get him ready for the year.

I will have more later from the last two practices.
