I often mention that on of the biggest factors in recruiting has a lot to do with the NFL and getting players there. Arizona has not had a lot of success in getting players noticed enough under Rich Rodriguez and that has played a part in this whole thing. Kids going to Pac-12 schools all believe they have a chance to get to the NFL whether they truly do or not. That is a big sell for a lot of programs. The final NFL combine list came out today and Arizona is the only school in the Pac-12 without a player invited. That's not good.
Part of it is talent, part of it is development. But if Arizona wants to get over the hump in recruiting that has to change. It's hard to pull truly high-level recruits unless you can prove to them the NFL has a chance to be in their future. It's hard for the 'Cats to do that right now.
