Arizona has made a move with its coaching staff to try and get some better results in 2019. Defensive coordinator Marcel Yates will move back to the secondary this season as he will coach safeties while John Rushing will move over and coach linebackers. Yates has coached all over the secondary in his career but Rushing has not coached linebackers as he has mostly worked with defensive backs with some of his career spent coaching receivers.
Yates has not been shy about having an affinity for coaching the secondary and UA was its most successful in the year he was not working with the linebacker group and allowed to focus on the back end of the defense.
