Well after a lot of talk about Arizona not wanted to add any transfers, the Wildcats have announced the addition of pitcher and infielder Miranda Stoddard for the 2024 roster. Stoddard is a graduate transfer from Kentucky where she has pitched 141 2/3 innings earning a record of 11-4 with an era of 3.56 for her career.
Stoddard has played third base for Kentucky and at the plate she hit .240 totaling 69 hits, 13 doubles, 67 RBIs and slugged 18 home runs in her three season with the Wildcats.
"We're thrilled to welcome Miranda to our team this year," said coach Caitlin Lowe. "As a true utility player, she has a lot of experience playing against top competition and will add a great deal of depth and experience to our pitching staff while also being able to play the infield and hit."
From the sounds of things, Stoddard will be a key piece for the Wildcats out of the Bullpen giving them someone to shorten the game with and putting less stress on Devyn Netz and the rest of the young rotation.
I think this is a solid pick up, but things will come down to how much the rest of the staff improves and how good the incoming freshmen pitchers are.
