Arizona has added a commitment from 2021 safety recruit Isaiah Taylor from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 5-foot-11 defensive back recently picked up an offer from Illinois while schools such as Missouri, Maryland, Syracuse Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Coastal Carolina, Army and Kansas also offered him throughout the process. It is notable that this commitment has an NFL tie for the Wildcats as Taylor's father is former NFL All-Pro defensive end/linebacker Jason Taylor who was a star for the Miami Dolphins as well as Washington and the New York Jets. Taylor is a bit of an under-the-radar Power Five prospect, but he has started to gain some more attention as programs begin to look at other options down the home stretch of the 2021 cycle.

He's a new name to the UA recruiting board as the new staff is responsible for recruiting him making him the first true high school commit for Jedd Fisch and his staff at UA. UA needs some help at cornerback but Taylor is much more of a safety than a cornerback at this stage. He will be able to help somewhere in the secondary as I could see him eventually becoming a nickel back for the Wildcats as well. Right now he has played both strong and free safety as a high school player with quite a bit of success at a prominent school.

Taylor has some impressive instincts as well as range and a natural playmaking ability that should help the Wildcats on the back end. Because of the need for more players in the secondary I could see him being on the field earlier rather than later but no matter how it plays out he should be a contributor for the Wildcats at some point.
