As a recruit: Despite being a major playmaker for a program known for producing talent in California, Taylor had to overcome questions about his size during the recruiting process and received just two Power Five offers, courtesy of Arizona and Washington State. What he did this week: Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate has been getting all the attention for his gaudy rushing numbers but it was Taylor who led the Wildcats in rushing during Saturday’s victory over Washington State. The 5-foot-6 back had a career day, rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns on just 13 carries. The threat of Tate’s legs has only opened things up for Taylor, who has nearly doubled his yardage totals from his freshman season in 2016. The Wildcats are now ranked and have a pair of dangerous ball-carries.
