For all those who think these next few weeks will be used for Arizona to focus on its young players that won't be the case from the sounds of it. Rich Rodriguez flat out said he thinks these practices are overrated and that just a few of them will be dedicated to getting the young players some more reps.
"Just from a fundamental standpoint I think the bowl practice stuff is probably a little overrated as far as how it gets you further developed," he said. "It's not really a full spring practice, but there are some practices like today (Sunday) where we got 10-15 minutes of kind of live stuff with our young guys.
"It's a chance to work on fundamentals and we'll do that the first few bowl practices. What we'll do this week will be half on Purdue and half fundamentals. Certainly when we get closer to game week we're just gonna try and win the game."
Arizona isn't going to use all of the 15 practices it is able to use for bowl prep either.
