As the season has now officially come to an end with the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament it means transfer season is in full swing. Players wasted no time entering the transfer portal as soon as the new started to break that there would be no more games to play this season.

The roster situation remains in flux right now because of the uncertainty over how scholarships will play out regarding winter sports. Nothing has been determined about what will happen with current seniors and whether or not they will be given an entire year of eligibility even though most teams were 90 percent done with their season.

Still, Arizona will need to fill spots regardless of what happens and what decisions are made, so it will be one of the programs active in the transfer market this offseason. As such, the Wildcats have been among the first teams to reach out to a pair of teammates from Wichita State that have entered the transfer portal since the season ended.

Per Rivals.com's Corey Evans, Arizona is among the schools that have reached out to sophomore guard Jamarius Burton since entered the transfer portal on Friday. The Wildcats have also reached out to his teammate and fellow sophomore, Erik Stevenson. Both players were among the top players for the Shockers this season.

Burton, a 6-foot-4 guard, was third on the team in scoring this season as one of three players that averaged double figures (10.3 points) to go along with a team high 3.4 assists per game. The North Carolina native also grabbed 3.5 rebounds per game for the Shockers this year. He was also second on the team from 3-point range with a shooting percentage of 38.1 percent from deep.

He is a versatile player who played a lot of point guard for Wichita State but could also play off the ball and has a comparable game to Brandon Williams in many ways including his ability to get to the basket. He has a bit better size than Williams and he is known for taking advantage of that size to get to the rim.

Arizona State is the only other Pac-12 school that has reportedly shown interest so far, but there are a number of other schools that have already become involved or reached out including Xavier, Marquette, Seton Hall, Dayton, Illinois, West Virginia and Maryland to name a few.

Stevenson is a West Coast kid from Lacey, Washington who was second on the team in scoring this year at 11.1 points per game to go with 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists. At 6-foot-3, the sophomore has similar size to Burton and he is certainly a two-way player with his ability to defend on the perimeter as well. He led the Shockers with 1.5 steals per game during the 2019-20 season.

The Washington native has gained a reputation for having a "gritty" style of play and being willing to do the dirty work out on the floor. He was one of only a few Wichita State players to have played in all 31 games this season so he has the durability that would benefit the Wildcats.

Washington, Washington State, Gonzaga, USC, Utah, Texas, Oregon State and Seton Hall are some of the schools that have already made contact with Stevenson in addition to the Wildcats up to this point.

Burton and Stevenson were both rated as three-star prospects in the 2018 recruiting class and both would have to sit out next season as things stand now.
