I was doing some Signing Day prep so I just caught the tail end of practice. There are some impressive freshmen and Jay Johnson was not shy about discussing how they looked today. Cloney said his change up has really improved over the fall and it is now his second best pitch. There are going to be a lot more flexible pieces this season and Johnson said that is what he is trying to figure out right now. There are some different combinations of players he wants to use and he's figuring out who fits best where.
In terms of depth he said there's more players further along right now than he had last year, so that is something promising going into the rest of the practices and the season.
