Pregame - Moments away from tip off, we've already witnessed two very loudstanding ovations in support of Coach Miller with a nice applause each time his face pops up onto the jumbotron in McKale. Under a lot of scrutiny the past few days Miller seemed to crack a little smile after raising a hand to salute the crowds cheers.

Starting Lineups:

Arizona:
Parker Jackson-Cartwright
Rawle Alkins
DeAndre Ayton
Dusan Ristic
Allonzo Trier

Stanford:
KZ Okpala
Daejon Davis
Michael Humphrey
Dorian Pickens
Reid Travis

1ST HALF
-Dusan Ristic opens up the scoring tonight for the Wildcats. Nice hit for Allonzo Trier starting his return to the court from deep three point land. Reid Travis starts out the offense for the Cardinal for two. Big block from Ayton keeps the crowd energized. It feels like Arizona is scoring at a high clip but Stanford has continuously answered. Left handedfinger roll from Ayton extends U of A's lead leading into the first media timeout. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 13 Stanford 9 - 15:17 1ST]

-Akot and Pinder enter the game as the Wildcats first subs of the night. Jackson-Cartwright with a very physical layup off the mismatch switch at the top of the key, nice recognition attacking the Stanford big. Reid Travis getting hot early for the Cardinal, if the Wildcats can contain him this should be an easy win at home in front of an extra passionate crowd tonight. Akot using some physicality under the basket to finish on the offensive end, maybe some added confidence from the rookie? Out of nowhere, Stanford is on top going into the second media time out after a missed assignment from a sleeping Ayton on defense. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 19 Stanford 20 - 9:58 1ST]

-A couple turnovers and a missed Stanford dunk have highlighted the first few minutes concluding the second media time out. Allonzo Trier at the line for two.

-Trier perfect from the line puts the Wildcats back on top. Dusan with a great pump fake and layup, Ristic was on the receiving end of a great pass from Allonzo Trier. Ristic is beginning to look like money from midrange, I personally don't mind a shot from either Ayton or Ristic inside the arc, both are very goos midrange shooters. Just as I type that, Ristic hits another midrange shot with a hand in his face this time. Emmanuel Akot with a contested shot from three point land finds nothing but net, he looks like a different player tonight. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 31 Stanford 23 2:45 1ST]

-Ristic can't be stopped at the moment? I repeat Ristic can't be stopped. Almost sounds weird saying that with the amount of shade he has received in the past but he's up to fifteen points in the first half. After a sloppy start, the Wildcats finished the front end of this one strong. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 37 Stanford 28 - HALFTIME]

2ND HALF

-Ristic's confidence isn't losing any steam, he just brought the ball down the court and got fouled on a spin move, at the line for two. Spoke too soon, misses them both. Rawle Alkins seemed to be a little banged up after a fall in the first half, the more I watch him run this half he seems to have a weird limp. Could just be me, Alkins finishes at the rim through contact and converts for an and one. Another nice block from DeAndre Ayton, he'll only get better as a rim protector as his game matures. He has that freaky size and athleticism that could make him a force on the defensive end down the road. An arrant Davis pass goes off Trier's head to take us into the first media time out of the second half. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 42 Stanford 34 - 15:52 2ND]

-Arizona leading in every major statistical category on the boxscore INCLUDING turnovers, Cats already up to eleven turnovers with fifteen minutes remaining in the second half but aree doing enough across the board to maintain a sizable lead. Allonzo Trier doing a good job creating shots and lanes for himself recently, looks a lot more comfortable than earlier in the year. Ayton scores on his patent midrange jumper once again. Stanford's Daejon Davis took a nasty spill in between front of Arizona's bench, doesn't look good at all, Davis is walked off with the help of Cardinal personnel. Ayton finds Pinder out of a double team for a big slam bringing some energy back to the building. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 50 Stanford 41 11:44 2ND]

-Add another two deep midrange makes to an already hot night for the Senior. Pinder contributing on the defensive end tonight continuously bothering shots at the rim (four fouls as well but isn't letting Stanford get anything easy) he's also chipping in on the offensive end with four points thus far. Dylan Smith hits a three. Travis at the line for the Cardinal after the media time out. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 59 Standford 48 - 7:56 2ND]

-Daejon Davis has been back in action for quite sometime, his fall earlier must not have been as serious as perceived. Reid Travis keeping Stanford in the game, there hasn't really been a serious threat to the Wildcat lead but the Cardinal are keeping it within single digits. Jackson-Cartwright with a nice move at the top of the arc crosses a defender and buries a three to give Arizona a double digit lead. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 67 Stanford 56 - 5:29 2ND]

-Stanford back within five here after an onslaught of efficient free throws in the second half. Ayton just missed two free throws, Stanford has a chance to make this a one possession game. Not so fast, a Cardinal miss gives Trier a chance to put Reid Travis on a poster but Travis fouls him on the way up. Trier at the line for two shots after the media time out. [SCORE UPDATE: Arizona 67 Stanford 62 - 3:29 2ND]

-Trier drills them both supplying the Wildcats with some breathing room. Ayton was on the receiving end of a Travis elbow to the face after a hook shot on the offensive end. Play was under review but quickly shut down, Ayton seems to have shaken it off, play resumes. Good finish for the Cats at home after a week most thought would never end. Matt will have updates from the press conference momentarily. [FINAL SCORE: Arizona 75 Stanford 67 - END OF GAME]
