Hey guys, we have finished up camp and I wanted to jump in here and share my quick takes from the day as we work on articles from the day.
Quick takes:
Starting offensive line - The first practice that we were able to see the start line featured Joseph Borjon (Jordan Morgan will start) and Jonah Savaiinaea starting at tackle, Leif Magnuson and Wendell Moe playing guard with Josh Baker at center. However there was a "small" change on Sunday with big Raymond Pulido moving in at right guard replacing Magnuson on the line. Pulido looked great and moved like he has played guard his whole life even during 11-on-11 drills with the first-team offense.
Duane Akina - I know coach Duane Akina is supposed to only be on the field until Ricky Hunley is back with his injury. However, he has taken full control of the safeties group while Chuck Cecil watches him coach from the side. Akina is running the show and brings to question if there will be a permanent change there.
Zarius Wells - I know Zarius Wells is a walk-on and won't see the field this season. However, I think Arizona might've gotten a steal and a guy in Wells that might be starting on the line next season. He was really impressive today during position drills and moves very well for his 6-foot-6, 294-pound frame. He will be a guy to keep and eye on for the future and the rest of camp.
We will have more as always. But, if you have any questions, let us know.
