Arizona was back at it Wednesday afternoon/evening with its second practice of the week. Arizona once again went full pads and it was the offense that came out victorious on the day. UA is starting to pick it up just a bit now that it has some time to get going.

Here are some quick notes for today.

* We'll start with something that I mentioned on Monday in the War Room and that is safety Tellas Jones who is not practicing with the team right now. As I mentioned before I was told that it was for a violation of team rules and today Rodriguez said Jones is working through "personal issues" so he is not practicing. Jones is trying to work his way back and he was at practice on Monday talking with some of the players afterward, so it is not as though Rodriguez isn't allowing him to not be around the program.

* Anthony Mariscal continues to be the player in that safety group that the coaching staff really likes. He was getting some extra work in after practice and he continues to be a great fit for what UA wants to do next season on defense.

* Arizona had walk-on tryouts after practice today and there could be a couple who at least get a call back, but it was a good chance to see Brandon Dawkins get some work in as he was the quarterback for a big portion of the tryout. He was able to air it out but the accuracy down the field is still a work in progress.

* At receiver Rodriguez said the biggest reason Samajie Grant saw a dip in his production was because of the injuries, but he will be relied on even more this season. In addition to that Trey Griffey - not that it's a surprise - is going to play a ton as Arizona's outside threat.
